Greetings from the PFA!

Some parents or guardians may not yet be aware that we have an active and successful Parents and Friends Association at the school. It’s a great way of getting more involved in the school and meeting others – we run a number of social events each year, and support school activities if we’re needed. We use any profits to buy resources and facilities for the pupils that aren’t always available from the normal school budget.

In the recent past we’ve held two quiz nights, a 70s disco and a grand auction of promises, as well as running two termly raffles.  In total we raised over £2000, and have managed to buy shirts for both the rugby team and the girls’ soccer team, sweatshirts for the dance team, additional books for the library, lighting and curtains for the drama area, and have also sponsored the “green car” project.

We’re always pleased to welcome new members – you don’t need any special skills, just an interest in the school, and a willingness to get involved occasionally (a sense of humour’s also useful!). It doesn’t matter how little time you can contribute, it all helps.
