Emily Davison shocked the world when she threw herself under the King's horse at the Epsom Derby in 1913. Why? To protest about women not being allowed to vote. This unit is all about the people who fought so that we can choose who leads our country.

This unit will allow you to understand how our country works today and how we elect our Prime Minister. You will finish by assessing Emily Davison - was she right to kill herself or was she simply mad?
