Technology colleges are schools that are designated as a specialist school in Technology, Science and Maths. It is designed to support these departments in developing whole school improvement through innovative approaches to teaching and learning across all key stages and all ability ranges.
Designated technology schools such as Arnewood are expected to take a leading role in forming partnerships with primary and secondary schools and the local community as a whole. Technology colleges will promote an educational culture that is scientific, technological, enterprising and vocational, with the aim of increasing the post 16 participation rate in the specialist areas, and provide students with the skills needed to progress into employment, further training and higher education.
